What is your relationship to touch?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 11, 2008:
This, could possibly be, the most wonderful question
in the world.
Touch means everything to me... the entire world.
After not being able to feel touch for nearly 5 years
while I was in a coma, it became one of the main
reasons why I came back to life. Because I realized,
that I am in LOVE with touch. A most wonderful gift
that we will only be able to experience in human form.
And I, was not ready to give that up yet..... :)
Now, when I am being touched by a loved one,
I soak in every moment of it, as if each movement
is the last thing I will ever feel in my life. Like soaking
in every last drop of a lemonade, on a hot summer day.....
mmmmm.....
Thank you God, for allowing me to have this experience
again, as if for the first time in my life. :)

I love “sponges”. I am one as well. When a girl soaks in that moment as if it were the last, it means a lot to me in a relationship, or even a friendship in general. Perhaps, holding hands through a park like a bunch of little middle schoolers. Your entry made me smile and so, I thank you for that. =]
I am very happy that touch returned you to life, Allison, and for the leavening your experience brings to TOUCH.
